Hamilton is known for its ability to showcase the difficult life of Alexander Hamilton, his tragic death by Aaron Burr, and his importance in America's past. All of this and much more is performced through {Hip-Hop|hip hop|, R&B, and traditional-style showtunes that have become instant hits in Broadway history.
This success in its storytelling and theatrical score has become the hit broadway musical earning 8 Drama Desk Awards, 11 Tony Awards and a 2016 Pulitzer Prize.
Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote Hamilton as a way to deliver the story of "America then, as told by America now". Hamilton delivers on this goal by casting ethinic minorities to portray the America's Founding Fathers such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Alexander Hamilton. Trey Curtis, Jared Dixon, Tamar Greene, and Stephanie Jae Park are a few of a number of minority actors who currently star in Hamilton.
